Diversity

Picture
These early years are the prime time to impart to developing children what is familiar; what is good. Familiarity and a sense of the goodness in others are the antecedents to prejudice, or a feeling of being different than.
Our dolls and puppets representing different ethnicities, and crafts hailing from many cultures, invite children into daily play and work with human impulses from all over the world. Our simple puppet shows depict heroes of every hue, and stories of love and triumph from far away lands.
Through all of our work here at the Magic Garden, our goal, if you will, is to immerse children in goodness through our every word and action. We strive to bring to the young child experiences replete with goodness, beauty, and truth. Through these intentions, children will be formed through the cultivation of all of their senses into adults who seek the goodness of others and are open to, and fully engaged in, the ever-changing, and beautifully diverse, world all around them.
“A healthy social life is found when in the mirror of each human being, the whole community finds its reflection, and when in the whole community, the virtue of each one is living – Rudolf Steiner
